 County Executive Leggett and Councilmember Andrews Attend Congressional Badge of Bravery Award Presentation

County Executive Ike Leggett congratulated Officer Edward E. Paden, Jr. for receiving the Congressional Badge of Bravery Award from U.S. Senator Ben Cardin, U.S. Congressman Chris Van Hollen and Maryland U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein.  Officer Paden was honored for his exceptional bravery during the September 1, 2010, suicide bomber incident at the Discovery building in Silver Spring.  Officer Paden, though off-duty, immediately responded and his actions  contributed to over 1,000 lives being saved.  Pictured left to right are:  Leggett, Officer Paden, Cardin, Van Hollen, Rosenstein, Police Chief Tom Manger, and County Council member Phil Andrews.  See Media Advisory for more info.
