A motorcycle-riding Santa (MCP Fifth District Motor Officer Robert Ladany) waves hello as motor officers participating in the Montgomery County Police Department’s annual fundraising “Santa Ride” arrive at the Up County Regional Services Center to greet youngsters at the Peppertree Children’s Center. That was the first stop on a day-long ride throughout all six police districts that ends at the Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda. Over 20 motor officers escorting Santa bring gifts, gift cards and provide a holiday party for the families staying at the Inn while their children are receiving treatment at NIH.
