 Home Builders Care Assessment Center

County Executive Ike Leggett recently helped dedicate a picnic pavilion and patio at the Home Builders Care Assessment Center, the Men’s Emergency Shelter on E. Gude Dr. in Rockville. The pavilion and patio were dedicated to the memory of Chip Merlin who died in 2011, “in recognition of his enduring goodwill, distinguished career service to build shelter for others in need, and his formidable leadership and exemplary service as Builder Captain.” Photographed with Leggett (from l. to r.) are Susie Sinclair-Smith, Executive Director, Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless; and members of the Merlin family – Chip’s widow Mary Jean, son Jacob, and parents Marcia and Paul.
