1029325 - Viability and Need Assessments for Small Businesses Proximate to Planned County Redevelopment Projects
In April 2012, the County Council enacted Bill 6-12, Economic Development - Small Business Assistance. The legislation authorizes the establishment of a program to assist small businesses adversely impacted by County-initiated redevelopment projects, or redevelopment projects located on County property. As directed by this legislation, the Department of Economic Development is establishing the Small Business Assistance Program (“SBAP”). Small businesses that meet qualifying criteria may be eligible to receive financial assistance and/or access to technical assistance to help mitigate adverse impacts resulting from County-initiated redevelopment projects.
The County intends to enter into a contractual relationship with a qualified offeror to provide viability and need assessments consulting services, the results of which will inform the County's determination of budgetary requirements for the SBAP.
