Service Animal Access to County Facilities

Service animals are permitted to accompany a person with a disability virtually anywhere in a government or other facility (there are some limited exceptions). Service animals must be trained to provide a service to assist the person with a disability but no special tags, licenses, or documentation are required. Anyone with questions about service animals in County government facilities or who has experienced a problem involving a service animal in a County government building, Ride-On bus, or other facility should contact the ADA Compliance Manager (240-777-6197; TTY 240-777-6196; e-mail adacompliance@montgomerycountymd.gov).

If the problem is not with a County-sponsored program, the ADATechnical Assistance Center at (800) 949-4234 (V/TTY), e-mail adainfo@transcen.org, website: http://www.adainfo.org/ can be contacted for guidance.
