MONTGOMERY
COUNTY'S FARE
HARE
Program Description
Montgomery County's Fare Share Program
is a commuting benefit that offers employers up to $32.50 per month, per
employee, in matching funds if they contribute to their employees' public
transportation costs to and from work. The County will match an employer's
contribution by discounting transit fare media - bus and rail passes, tokens,
etc. - that it sells to employees. The program is for one year or a maximum
subsidy of $20,000, whichever comes first.
Guidelines and Eligibility
-
Fare Share is open to any business or organization
located within Montgomery County. All employees are eligible.
-
Employers purchase fare media and/or Metrocheks
for their employees through the County's Fare Media Programs for one year
and match an agreed-to contribution.

the number of employees participating OR employer increases the contribution
amount $5 per employee per month.
