Citizen Community Emergency Response Training Offered

Become a Community Safety Advocate

Montgomery County is looking for a few local residents to get involved in some unique safety training!! We are looking for proactive citizens who are interested in becoming Community Safety Advocates and front-line assistants during emergencies in their communities. The program is modeled after the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) program that was originally developed by the Los Angeles Fire Department in 1985. The Montgomery County CERT participants will attend 6 classes over a 2-week period, meeting two nights a week with two all day Saturday session to include a practical and test day. Takoma Park/Silver Spring area (open to all county residents)

CERT Class #2006-01: January 31 - February 11, 2006
You must attend every session to become certified.
