Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett, County Council President Michael Knapp and Fire Chief Thomas W. Carr, Jr. will join other officials to break ground for a new fire station in Germantown – Germantown/Milestone Station #34.  The station will provide emergency ‘first due’ response services to a nearly 13-square-mile-area which includes Milestone, Neelsville, Fox Chapel and Middlebrook.

This will be the third fire station for the growing Germantown community. The second -- Germantown/Kingsview Fire Rescue Station # 22 -- is under construction and is expected to open in a few months early in 2009.  The original fire/rescue station in Germantown, Station #29, located on Crystal Rock Drive, has served the community and greater area since 1989.
