ROCKVILLE, Md.-- Corstone Capital (Corstone) and Astra HR recently announced they will host a reception at 11:30 a.m. on February 6 th to honor the group of rescue workers from the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department - Fire Stations 10 and 30, Montgomery County Police Department, Maryland State Police Aviation, and US Park Police who responded to the unprecedented and devastating water main break that occurred on December 23, 2008 on River Road in Bethesda, MD. The reception will take place Fire Station 10, 8201 River Road.

The water main released an estimated 150,000 gallons of water per minute that flooded the major roadway during the morning rush-hour and had an impact on the whole region. Due largely to the quick action of first responders, nine stranded motorists were rescued from their vehicles out of rushing water without any serious injury.

Rescued motorists, local leaders from Montgomery County, State of Maryland government officials and other members of the community have also been invited to recognize the efforts of the rescue personnel involved. A representative from Congressman Chris Van Hollen’s office will be in attendance to award a Congressional Citation during the reception.
