Public Safety Valor Awards

Rockville - - - The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce will honor Montgomery County public safety personnel for their acts of bravery and heroism at the annual Public Safety Valor Awards luncheon.
This year’s ceremony will honor the largest number of recipients in the history of the program and will recognize public safety personnel who have shown extraordinary character and bravery in the line of duty to protect the citizens of Montgomery County, Maryland.
The event will feature several dramatic incidents and acts of valor. Among those honored and recognized at the event will include thirty-seven first responders to the September 1st suicide bomber hostage situation at Discovery Communications in Silver Spring, Maryland. The incident was unprecedented and will feature a presentation by Discovery Communications.
The Public Safety Awards luncheon is the largest valor awards event in the Washington metropolitan area, attracting 1,200 business leaders, elected officials and members of the public safety community. Fifty-three valor awards will be presented at the event, along with three unit citations, and two new awards this year: the Corporate Vital Link Award and the Government Partner of the Year Award.
