CLASS SPECIFICATION
NUTRITION PROGRAM AIDE
DEFINITION OF CLASS:
This is routine community service work providing
meals and supporting services to elderly participants of the nutrition
program. Personal contacts are with co-workers and with elderly citizens
participating in the program.
An employee in this class performs various tasks associated with serving meals at a specific site. Work is performed according to guidelines and instructions and is reviewed by the nutrition program director.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (Illustrative Only)
Takes reservations for lunch and makes up seating
arrangements.
Records daily receipts and makes daily bank deposits.
Sets up meal site for lunches; receives meals and cleans up after
lunch.
Fills out necessary forms and prepares weekly statistical reports.
Welcomes participants and follows up on absentees.
Coordinates support services and ensures that games and necessary
equipment are available.
Performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
None.
Education:
Ability to read and write.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to keep simple records and reports.
Ability to communicate effectively.
LICENSE:
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license when required for job-related duties.
