Arthur M. Wallenstein is the Director of the Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation (1999-present).

Director of Corrections in King County, Washington (Seattle) from 1990-1999

Director of Bucks County (Pennsylvania) Department of Corrections from 1977-1990. Prior to that he was Assistant Warden at Stateville/Joliet, Illinois Department of Corrections and Philadelphia Prison System - county jail system for Philadelphia.

Served on the National Institute of Corrections Advisory Board, 1994-2004 appointed by Attorney General Janet Reno and 2010 - Present appointed by Attorney General Eric Holder.

Attended Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service (BS), and University of Pennsylvania (MA) with major fields - International Relations and Foreign Policy and co-authored a university text in International Organizations and the United Nations - served as an intern - Department of State - Bureau of Southern African Affairs and field work in Southern Africa. Further field work on the Thai - Cambodian Border - refugee reunification after the Khmer Rouge Genocide and wrote on Humanitarian Parole for the US Committee on Refugees and refugee reunification casework for Wrightstown Friends Meeting Asian Refugee Committee - Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Adjunct faculty (24 years), Temple University, University of Washington, St. Joseph's University (graduate), University of Maryland University College (current) and Montgomery College, Maryland (current) - teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Corrections, Administration of Justice and related topics.
