FY11 Budget

The budget reduction for FY10 and budget formulation for FY11 is to include a 1.3 million dollar reduction for DOCR.

Audits

MCCF is currently preparing for four (4) audits in 2011 (ACA, NCCHC, MCCS, CEA).

Influenza Issues

MCCF took the appropriate precautions to stop the spread of influenza like illness within the facility.All programs and visiting were placed on hold for 96 hours. The actions taken to stop internal movement were proven fruitful. It appears to have slowed the spread and in the process developed a number of excellent procedures that will continue to serve us as we navigate through the ups and downs of what may prove to be a complicated flu season.

New CBAG Format

CBAG will now hold quarterly meetings beginning March 2010.

New Volunteer Coordinator

MLC Update

Barbara James updated the group on education and future plans at MCCF.There was a brief discussion of the proposed change of the drop-out rate from 16-18 years of age and the impact on MCCF.

Vacancies

Deputy Warden Malagari updated the group on the current vacancies in her section.There is a Correctional Specialist I at this time currently being advertised.

Camp Hope Update

Tim Warner discussed the expansion of Camp Hope.It was discussed that Tim Warner and Warden Green would present the program to the Maryland Correctional Administrators Association in an attempt to gain more statewide support.

Sarah Griggs, Clarksburg Methodist Church

Ms. Griggs informed the group of the new Pastor at her church.His name is David Dotson.The CBAG group will reach out to him and invite him to future meetings.
