A Consumer Guide to the Maryland Long-Term Care Insurance Partnership Program
The Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) is the State Agency that regulates the business of insurance in the State of Maryland. The MIA assist consumers, businesses, health care providers (doctors, hospitals), and producers (agents and/or brokers) in all areas of insurance; including life, health, disability, workers compensation (however, we do not have jurisdiction over workers compensation claims), automobile, homeowners, and property.
Medical Assistance for Nursing Homes

Provides assistance with expenses for care in nursing homes and other institutions. Advocates for persons in the community in need of assistance and provides payment of expenses for medical treatment, medical supplies and pharmaceutical drugs.
Senior Health Insurance Counseling Program
Provides trained volunteers who assist seniors with health insurance claims, selection of supplemental health insurance and long-term care insurance policies, and securing legal support for health insurance problems.
