Call for free transportation information and referral regarding all private and public transportation options for adults ages 50 years and older. Also provides assistance with completing applications. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm. Click here to view their flyer. Connect-A-Ride is a program of the Jewish Council for the Aging (JCA) and is funded by Montgomery County Government's Department of Transportation and the Jewish Council for the Aging of Greater Washington.

Signs that an older driver needs assistance

·         Neglects to buckle up

·         Has difficulty working the pedals

·         Has difficulty merging on freeways, or turning onto busy streets

·         Has trouble seeing other vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians, especially at night

·         Ignores or "misses" stop signs

·         Reacts slowly to sirens and flashing lights of emergency vehicles

·         Weaves, straddles lanes, drifts into other lanes or changes lanes without signaling

·         Gets lost or disoriented easily, even in familiar places

Ride On, Seniors and People with Disabilities Ride free on Ride On and Metrobus in Montgomery County from 9:30 am-3:00 pm Monday-Friday. Seniors must be 65 years or older and have a valid Metro Senior ID Card or Medicare Card with photo ID and persons with disabilities must have a valid Metro Disabled ID Card. Provides bus transportation for adults aged 55 and over to senior centers and selected senior neighborhood program sites, some of which offer the Senior Nutrition Program congregate lunch.  Bus transportation to shopping is also provided for residents in selected low-income senior apartment buildings.
