CHILD CARE SUBSIDY PROGRAMS (CCSP)

7300 Calhoun Place, Suite 700, Rockville, MD  20855

The Child Care Subsidy Programs provides eligible Montgomery County families with help paying for their child care so that they can obtain and maintain employment and/or attend school or training programs. Case managers determine eligibility, provide program information and counseling with regards to choosing quality child care and the pursuit of child support and provide information about other resources as necessary.

Income eligible Montgomery County residents with children ages 0-13 for the State Purchase of Care Program (POC) and 0-14 for the County funded Working Parents Assistance Program (WPA) or to age 19 if special needs.  Eligibility is based on factors including income and documented employment, school and/or training activity of the parent(s).  Income limits vary by household size for POC and additional factors including family composition and type of child care for WPA.

Child care subsidies are provided in the form of a voucher for each eligible child.  Parents may use the POC or WPA vouchers with any licensed child care provider within the State.  The POC program will also subsidize certain authorized, informal child care arrangements.  Subsidy payments are made directly to the child care provider, on a monthly basis for WPA and on a biweekly basis for POC.  Authorization for services is based on availability of funds.

The office is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.  Applications are accepted in person, by mail or fax.  For more detailed information, please the Child Care Subsidy Programs Information Line at 240-777-1155.
