Montgomery County’s Second Annual
Homeless Resource Day

Thursday, November 15, 2012

9:00am -- 3:00pm
Activity Center at Bohrer Park

(Next to Gaithersburg High School)

 

The Homeless Resource Day will be a “one day, one stop,” opportunity for individuals and families experiencing homelessness to access benefits, medical care, substance abuse and mental health counseling, as well as a variety of social services.

How can you help?

Volunteers are needed to assist as greeters, guides, monitors and escorts.  Also, volunteers help with set up, registration, and parking.  Please click here for the Volunteer Registration Form.  Thank you for your interest. 

Provider Agencies who wish to provide services, exhibit information and/or make a donation, please email us at HHSHRD@montgomerycountymd.gov for additional information and instructions.

 

Why a Homeless Resource Day?

Homeless Resource Day brings together many of the resources that homeless individuals and their families need to make it easier to get the help that they need in one location, including:

  • Services from private and public agencies and organizations

·        Scheduling of follow-up appointments

*To better serve you, please bring all personal identification, including original birth certificates, social security cards, W-2 forms, or other documentation needed to obtain services.

 

Transportation will be provided -- Details will follow.

Department of Transportation will provide RideOn Bus Service from Bus Depot and Metro Stations.  Buses will be marked “Special Event.”  Please look for Homeless Resource Day volunteers

 

Sign Language Interpreting Services and Accessibility

Sign language interpreter services will be provided upon request with advanced notice.  Please provide as much advance notice as possible but no less than 72 hours prior to the event.  If you need services or aids to participate in this activity, please call 240-777-4565 (voice), 240-777-1295 (TTY) or Maryland Relay 711.  Taking these steps will help us have sufficient time to meet your needs.  All materials available in alternative formats upon request.
