RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS AND
HOME ENERGY PROGRAMS

 Rental Assistance Programs

County Rental Assistance Program (RAP) provides limited monthly assistance with rent to low income seniors, individuals with disabilities and households of two or more.

The RAP program is not accepting new applications at this time. If you would like to be added to the mailing list to receive notification if the program begins accepting applications, please call 240-777-4400. 

Handicapped Rental Assistance Program (HRAP) provides monthly financial assistance to individuals that reside in a group home licensed either by the State of Maryland or Montgomery County who have a mental illness which constitutes a disabling condition.

Home Energy Programs

Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP) / Electric Universal Services Program (EUSP)
MEAP provides financial assistance for eligible low-in households to pay home heating costs.  Eligibility is determined by income, household size and fuel type.
