To obtain a disability parking sign for a non-residential building, please put your request in writing and mail it to the Division of Traffic Engineering & Operations. This department is responsible for installing and maintaining traffic signs and pavement markings, overseeing the installation and maintenance of streetlights, managing neighborhood traffic calming, roadway safety investigations and data collection programs, and overseeing the occupancy of our public right of way to ensure that work zone activities and special events occur with appropriate traffic controls. If you are requesting an on street residential Disability Parking Space to be installed on the residential street in front of your home go to www.mva.maryland.gov/About-MVA/INFO/12100/12100-01T.htm. If that space happens to be on a Montgomery County maintained road, MCDOT will get the letter from MVA and follow up with installing the sign. Outside of that MCDOT does not provide signs for any private parking lot, residential or not.
