You can save wear and tear on both your vehicle and on yourself by commuting the smart way - by carpool or vanpool. You will be able to save time, too, by using theHOV lanes on several area highways. Metro Parking
At least 200 spaces are available at some Metro station parking lots.Try these: Twinbrook East lot, accessed from Parklawn Drive Silver Spring County Garage on Bonifant Street, one-half block from station; monthly pass available for Metro users, call 301-565-7693 Wheaton Metro garage next to Westfield Shopping Town Wheaton Plaza.

HOV Lanes
It takes as few as two in a car to use HOV Lanes on I-270. The 12-mile South-bound HOV lane from I-370 to I-495 operates 6 to 9 am Monday through Friday, and the northbound HOV lane from I-495 (Capital Beltway) to MD 121 (Clarksburg Road) operates 3:30 to 6:30 pm Monday through Friday.
