Montgomery County has had a long commitment to the goals of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The County's ADA Compliance Program is the responsibility of a unit in the Department of General Services and is charged with ensuring that all of Montgomery County Government’s programs, services, buildings, and other facilities are accessible to people with disabilities and compliant with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Compliance Program provides information, technical assistance, and training on Title II issues to all County departments and responds to any Title II–related questions, complaints, and grievances from County residents. Title II covers State and local government programs and services. The Montgomery County ADA Compliance Program (240-777-6197; TTY 240-777-6196; e-mail adacompliance@montgomerycountymd.gov), is under the supervision of Nancy Greene, the ADA Title II Compliance Manager.
Title II covers access to buildings and facilities, to communication, and to programs.
