A Commitment to you!

Montgomery County is committed to providing mobility for seniors and persons with disabilities.
We heard from you and we've made major changes to meet your needs better and make your travel more convenient. All of Ride On's buses are wheelchair accessible. The County's transit system is one of the best in the country. It consists of Ride On, Metrobus, Metrorail, and special transportation programs such as MetroAccess and Call -n- Ride.

Call -n- Ride Program

Call -n- Ride Program

This Montgomery County program provides subsidized taxi trips for low-income persons with disabilities and seniors. To be eligible for the Call -n- Ride Program, you must be low income and at least 67 years of age or low income and at least 16 years of age with a disability. If you are less than 67 years of age, you must show proof of disability. Clients may add up to $120.00 monthly to their swipe cards at discounts according to income. You may use your swipe cards for taxicabs from companies under contract with the County. Swipe cards may be used to pay for the full cost of the fare or may be combined with cash to pay for your trip.

Important Notice about Call-n-Ride Effective April 1, 2013

Effective April 1, 2013, the Call-n-Ride Program will transition from the use of the coupon books to an automated swipe card and the coupons will no longer be accepted.

The elimination of the coupon books will make the program more user-friendly by eliminating the bulky coupon vouchers and replacing them with an automated swipe card, making it easier for clients.

The County has selected MJ Management Services, a Baltimore IT company, as its contractor to automate the current Call-n-Ride program. MJ Management Services will issue clients the swipe cards and load value to their cards.  There will be a change to where clients send their checks or money orders to add value to their swipe card.  Clients will  be receiving information directly from MJM Management Services in the near future.  So if you are a client, please watch your mail for this information as it will provide you with your swipe card and instructions on how to add value to your swipe card by check, money order or credit card.

There are no changes to the taxi fare value clients will receive. Instead of receiving coupons, clients will receive the same amount as before, only now it will be put on a swipe card.

For any questions about the program changes to Call-n-Ride, please contact MJ Management Services at 1-800-980-6564 or MC 311.
