The Office of Real Estate is responsible for a wide range of real estate related activities. We are responsible for acquisition of sites for new facilities such as fire stations, libraries and recreation centers. In addition, we dispose of property that has been declared surplus to County needs. This includes the disposition of closed schools by lease. We also have an extensive leasing program, in FY10, leasing and administering over 1,000,000 square feet of space in over 90 locations at an annual cost of $25 million dollars to fulfill County space needs. Our revenue leasing program leases out over 1 million square feet of County space at 245 locations, generating $4 million dollars annually.
