Youth Cruiser Pass

The monthly RIDE ON Cruiser Pass costs $11.00 and may only be used by riders 18 years and younger. The Cruiser Pass is valid for RIDE ON buses only; no transfers are issued with this pass. The pass is available by mail. Proof of age required for purchase. Passengers who use both RIDE ON and Metrobus should purchase a Metrobus Weekly Pass that RIDE ON honors. Summer Youth Cruiser Passes (June 1 to August 31)

County residents 18 and younger can take unlimited rides between June 1 and August 31 for only $18. This is almost half off the Regular Youth Cruiser Pass fare of $11 a month.

The Summer Youth Cruiser Pass is available for purchase:

  • Online: click on “buying fare media online” and follow the directions.
  • By Mail: print the form (here), complete it, and mail it to the address in the form with  required document.
  • Walk In: Montgomery County Treasury 255 Rockville Pike, Suite L-15, Rockville, MD 20850 (Phone 240-777-0311). Cruiser passes can also be purchased at one of the TRiPS stores in Silver Spring or Friendship Heights.
Please bring proof of age (passport or birth certificate.) Credit card payments are only accepted with mail-in orders.

Rules and Ropes of Using RIDE ON
  • Traveling on RIDE ON is safe, easy and convenient. If you are unsure of where RIDE ON goes, our map will help you out. Find the bus route nearest you and look for the blue and white bus stop sign.
  • RIDE ON buses generally run every twenty or thirty minutes. To be sure of the exact time look at the schedule for your route.
  • RIDE ON is affordable. The fare is $1.70. Children under 5 years old ride free at all times. We also have special fares for disabled and senior riders. Click here for complete information about our Fare and Transfer policy.
  • RIDE ON is accessible to people in wheelchairs.
  • All RIDE ON buses have bike racks mounted onto the front. Bike and ride to the mall, your favorite bike path, or the park, and meet your friends for some fun.
