Pre-Release and Reentry Services provides both paid and unpaid intern experiences. Intern Work Experiences can include:
- Supervise and monitor residents within the facility and in the community
- Organize and supervise leisure activities for residents
- Act as role model and mentor for residents
- Learn and practice communication and crisis intervention skills
- Administer alcohol and drug tests
- Provide assistance with security, safety and orderly operations of the facility
- Tutor residents
- Case management
- Assist residents with career resources
- Research projects
Community Corrections Internship (Paid): Requirements
- At least 21 year of age
- Completion of at least two years of college, with one year in criminal justice, behavioral science, or human services related discipline
- Valid Driver's License with no restrictions
- Must be able to pass a background investigation and physical exam to include drug screening
- Selection through an in-person interview
- A minimum of 24 hours per week required
- A minimum of a four month commitment to internship

Academic Internships (unpaid):
In conjunction with a college or university, PRRS offers supervision for various human services related degrees. Time commitment and responsibilities vary with respect to school requirements and staff availability. Contact Internship Coordinator for inquiries.
