Holiday Shopping Tips

Don’t let holiday shopping ruin your good spirits.  Be prepared, so when you are ready to make a purchase you are fully informed about both the product and the store.

·        Research the items that you are intending to buy before traveling to the store. By researching an item you will learn:

o       where to locate the item

o       if the item is a quality product

o       if the advertised price is actually a “sale”

·        Find out what the store’s return policy is before you make a purchase. Some stores have a “no return” policy.

·        Save all of your receipts; they will be needed if a product has to be returned or exchanged.

·        If there are problems with a product that was purchased and the store is not willing to resolve the issue, contact and/or file a complaint with the Office of Consumer Protection.
