Loading docks and food preparation at the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)Food Distribution Center located at the Crabbs Branch Service Park. The Food Distribution Center is one of several County government activities at the Service Park which also includes the Equipment and Maintenance Operations Center, Department of Liquor Control, MCPS Buses and Depot, and Park and Planning offices.

Background information

County-owned land, 92 acres
Shady Grove Sector Plan, approved by the County Council in 2005, calls for a transition of the area from light industrial to transit-oriented housing up to 6,500 units, including affordable and workforce housing – a shift dependent on the removal of the County Service Park to other sites.
Facilities presently on the site include: Department of Liquor Control headquarters and warehouse, Montgomery County Public Schools Food Distribution Center, Montgomery County Public Schools Bus Depot, Crabb’s Branch Day Labor Center, Equipment Maintenance Operations Center, County Radio Shop, and a Park & Planning maintenance facility.
