Cultivate, enhance and perfect your dance and music skills! Develop the confidence and poise that will last a lifetime. These exciting choices are taught by professionals in their craft, who are eager to share their knowledge. Campers attending full-day programs must bring their lunch.

Arts Camps

Ages 6-12: Pow! Bang! Wow! Along with some basic, fun cartooning you will learn to draw your own comic book superhero as well as Anime style heroes. You will learn to draw action and movement while you complete the scenes around your characters, using pencils and markers and SharpiesTM. Your collection of drawings will be impressive! Please go online and print the Health Forms and bring it to first day of camp.


Ages 5-10: Are we in Mexico? You would think you were with all the fun Mexican crafts, games, sports and music. Create your own mask, pinata, sombrero, maracas and much more! Learn about Mexican culture in the US too and explore the park. Family and friends join us to celebrate with an authentic Mexican fiesta and see our Mexican performance. All in Spanish! !Vamos Amigos! Bring a bagged lunch, sun screen and a hat. There will be $25 material fee due to the instructor the first day of camp. Campers will go swimming on Wednesday. Ages 5-10: Are we in Spain? You would think you were with all the fun Spanish crafts, games, sports and music. This year we explore famous Spanish artists, create a Spanish carnival, dance flamenco, play traditional games, and have a traditional Spanish celebration where family and friends come see our Spanish performance. Create art like Picasso, Dali and Gaudi. Come travel to Andulucia and Catalonia as we explore the park. All while speaking Spanish!! Vamos Amigos! Bring a bagged lunch, sun screen and a hat. Ages 8 - 15: Register early - this camp always gets waitlisted! It's like having an art store at your fingertips! Come to the magical world of Art Destination, where you can experience art in a fun and creative ways. Use many mediums including clay (regular and polymer), wood items to build or paint, and more. Create works of art with watercolors, acrylics, oil pastels, chalk and more! Use a variety of materials (too many to list) and experiment to create your own fantastic artistic world. Every week a new approach and/or technique is introduced (and new ones this year too!) so take it one week, or all summer, and never make the same thing twice! $44 material fee due to instructor on the first day of camp. Ages 5-10: You will create lots of cool artwork inspired by the great outdoors in this beautiful setting. Artwork may include paper mache, mobiles, sculptures from natural and recycled materials, mosaics, painting in the style of famous artists, collage, fabric painting, and lots more! New crafts! Play lots of games, sports, and explore the park. Bring a bag lunch, and wear sunscreen.There will be $25 material fee due to the instructor the first day of camp. Age 7-12 Campers complete intriguing art projects, each with a mathematical connection. They get the point, explore lines, and create geometric masterpieces as they discover how closely math and art are linked. From Pointillism to Pentagons to the People who did it, each day's project gives your child an artistic view of math. . There is a materials fee of $25 due on the first day of camp. Ages 6-9: Here's a star-studded camp for kids who love being in the limelight! 'Showbiz' kids get the chance to develop their talents through dance, movement, music, skits and more for a dramatically fun day that any camper is sure to enjoy! Crafts, games and activities will enhance our fun. We will culminate the week by having an exciting performance for the enjoyment of friends and family. Campers swim at an MCRD pool twice per week and have a field trip during the first three sessions. Each child must bring a bag lunch. Morning and afternoon extended camp is available. Camps will not meet on Thursday, July 4.


Ages 6 - 10 : All About Creepy Crawlers, Insects and Reptiles. You are being bugged! This Creepy Crawler's Camp is all about bugs, reptiles, nighttime adventures and the teeny tiny world of insects. We'll create bug habitats, design mazes, and participate in creepy crawler races while learning about bug and reptile characteristics. Join Abrakadoodle, 'the best art class to bring out your child's inner Picasso' for this buggy camp filled with insect art, mini-worlds and creative learning experiences! A $45 materials fee is due on the first day of camp to instructor.


Ages 9-13: Lights, camera, drama! Leap into an unforgettable theater experience as we plan and produce a real stage production. Campers will participate in all aspects of the production from auditioning, choreography, improvisation, costuming, singing and even set construction. Daily rehearsals give campers the opportunity to improve skills and be part of the excitement of a drama production. A culminating stage performance for family and friends is the grand finale that makes this camp a great combination of skill building and fun. Campers swim at an MCRD pool twice per week and have one field trip each session. Each child must bring a bag lunch. Onsite morning and afternoon extended care is available for an additional fee. Ages 5-8: Imagine Dance Camp sparks joy and creativity in children as they use nature, art, music, poetry and stories as inspiration for dance. With natural and organic movements appropriate for both boys and girls, children will learn basic dance skills, rhythm and musicality, as well as improvisation and creative dancing. Story-telling, nature explorations and art projects enhance the 'whole child' experience of dance. Based on the philosophy of Isadora Duncan and taught by Teaching Artists and Duncan Dance experts from the Isadora Duncan School for Creative Movement and Dance, children in this week-long camp will build self-esteem, personal creativity and appreciation of art, dance and nature. $10 material fee will be due to the instructor on the first day. Ages 7 - 12: Here's an exciting opportunity for aspiring musical theater artists. We'll create an original musical and explore the camaraderie of the ensemble spirit and other music theater skills while developing individual creative talent. Exposure to acting and performance skills, music coaching, as well as costumes, props, make up and sets. We'll put it all together in a final performance. Please bring a snack and lunch each day. Ages 7 - 12: Go with us on an Instrumental Adventure to learn how piano, guitar, violin, percussion and recorders make sound. We will rotate through terminals that offer different instruments, music, history, theory, ensemble, singing and games. Sessions are led by the International School of Music Faculty. Ages 5-12: Here's something to sing about! Spend your summer in musical bliss and discover just how many fun and exciting activities you can tune into! You'll have time each day to find your inner rhythm as you enjoy singing and choir, exploring different instruments, discovering new dances and dance moves, playing the piano and more! Each day will include special activities, outdoor play and time to practice for a Musical Showcase at the end of each session. This is a fun program that will enrich and entertain children at all levels of musical expression. Children will be grouped by age and ability. Make a note to register today! Ages 6 - 10: Ahoy all Pirate Island Buccaneers! Come aboard to create pirate ships, colorful parrots, treasure maps, sea monsters, ship flags, doubloon necklaces, treasure chests and more! Our buccaneers will explore cartooning, origami, sand painting, sculpture, cartography, and much more using their very own Abrakadoodle Pirate Kit. At the end of camp they take home the rest of their art materials for added fun at home. Materials fee includes all materials, props, games, stories and music used in class as well as the take home kit that extends the learning and fun at home. Arrrrgh! A $45 materials fee is due to instructor on the first day of camp.


Ages 6 - 12: You'll be challenged and enjoy drawing artistic rock and roll imagery, including instruments, musicians, cartoons and an awesome concert scene! Ages 6-8: Does your child love arts and crafts? Then this is the perfect camp for them! Each day we will create inspired artwork learning new skills and working with exciting media. We will balance out our day with fun games, stories and exploration. As a grand finale, campers will proudly display their creativity at an art show for friends and family. Campers swim at a MCRD pool twice per week and have a field trip during the first three sessions. Each child must bring a bag lunch.
