SORRT: 2002 Non-Residential Most Improved Recycling Program

1) Business or Individual: Adventist Health Care Shady Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Award Type: Most Improved, Business

Reason for being recognized: This business began a recycling program with training for their management staff, and continued with strategically placing recycling bins throughout the facility. Recycling questions, comments and concerns are now a part of weekly staff meetings and the program requirements are also included in the orientation process for new employees.

2) Business or Individual: Subway #795

Award Type: Most Improved, Business

Reason for being recognized: Initially not aware of the County's requirements for business recycling, this store achieved full compliance within two weeks of training their management team. Subway - Briggs Chaney has maintained a solid effort in it's recycling program.

3) Business or Individual: Universal High Tech Development

Award Type: Most Improved, Business

Reason for being recognized: Through on-site education efforts and the service of dedicated staff, Universal High Tech Development implemented a mixed paper recycling program for the entire building that is being utilized by all staff.
