See where your recyclables and trash go after collection crews pick them up from your curb! We will take you behind-the-scenes on walking tours to show you how your materials are sorted and processed.

We will visit the Compost Facility, where leaves and grass are turned rich compost, marketed as "Leafgro".

This tour is currently full. Please sign up for the waitlist in case spaces open up, and to let us know of your interest.
We'll visit the Resource Recovery Facility to learn about how trash is delivered by rail from the Transfer Station, how energy from burning
the trash is converted to electricity, and our state-of-the-art emissions
control technology.
This tour is suitable for teens and adults, and children in Grade 2 and above.

Why are these tours on holidays?
We purposely scheduled these tour events on Federal holidays on which our facilities are open. If you have the day off, come visit us. You will see our facilities in full operation!
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable, sturdy, closed-toe shoes to keep your feet comfortable and safe. Dress for the weather, as we will be outside for a portion of each event.
What is the registration fee?
The tours are free of charge. However, please register for the ones you would like to attend so we can reserve a place for you.
