Turbine

the Turbine Inside the steel tubes that form the furnace walls and the boiler, heat from the combustion process converts water to steam. The superheater further heats the steam before it is sent to a turbine generator to produce electricity. The facility is able to produce up to 63 megawatts of electricity. After using approximately 7 megawatts of electricity internally, the facility exports the balance to power up to 40,000 homes and businesses. Montgomery County receives 92% of the Facility's electricity sales revenue to offset operating costs.
