the Open-top Trailers Adjacent to the Refuse Drop-off Area County residents in passenger vehicles may enter the Transfer Station at the Frederick Road/Route 355 entrance to drop off trash and recyclables.

There is no charge to residents who bring trash to the Transfer Station, provided that they have less than 500 pounds of material for disposal; there is no fee to residents bringing recyclables.[complete fee schedule] The drop-off area is staffed during operating hours. Residents pull their cars directly up to containers and unload easily and quickly. When residents dispose of trash in the drop-off area, it falls directly into a open top trailer.

Arriving by truck (including pick-up trucks)?

If you are bringing trash, or a combination of trash and recyclables, by truck, you must enter the facility via the Truck Entrance on Shady Grove Road. Note that this entrance is closed on Sundays.

If you are bringing RECYCLABLES ONLY, you may enter via the Frederick Road/Route 355 entrance.
